SYMPHONY Partners with depa to Elevate Thai Entrepreneurs Toward the Digital Economy via "Thailand Digital Catalog"

The depa delegation was led by Dr. Sakkawet Yorsaeng, Vice President, Department Digital Investment and Industry Promotion and Mr. Kobkrit Choonnawaphan, Senior Officer at Digital Economy Promotion IoT and Digital Innovation Institute who discussion focused on pushing Thai-developed technology into the market through the Thailand Digital Catalog framework.

Driving Sustainable Growth Through Digital Transformation

At the onset, SYMPHONY presented an overview of the company as a leading telecommunications and digital infrastructure provider in Thailand. The company is committed to providing network connectivity, cloud services, and cybersecurity services for corporate clients and government agencies. Dr. Sakkaveth elaborated on the Thailand Digital Catalog, which aims to help digital service providers reach both government and private sectors. It also assists government agencies in accessing software that meets dSURE standards. Key benefits discussed include:

  • Government Procurement: Government agencies can procure digital products from the catalog via "Specific Method" (direct selection) without price limits.
  • Tax 200% Measure: SMEs can claim a 2x tax deduction on digital spending, up to 300,000 THB.
  • BOI Digital Industry Upgrading: Private sectors can receive corporate income tax exemptions based on business size to upgrade target industries.
  • Investment Support (New): A BOI measure offering up to 50% support (capped at 100 million THB) of the investment value per legal entity, provided the development or improvement is conducted by a Digital Provider listed in the Thailand Digital Catalog.
  • Local Government Transformation Cloud: A project supporting local government agencies in upgrading public services via cloud infrastructure for smart cities, utilizing providers from the catalog.

Strengthening Public-Private Collaboration

During the discussion, Mr. Apirath exchanged views and inquired about the registration process for the Thailand Digital Catalog. Dr. Sakkawet and Mr. Kobkrit provided straightforward and practical advice on preparation, including registration steps and necessary documentation.
