SYMPHONY Upgrades MCT Submarine Cable System to Strengthen International Connectivity for the AI-Driven Economy

Bangkok, Thailand – SYMPHONY Communication Public Company Limited ("SYMPHONY"), Thailand's leading digital infrastructure and enterprise connectivity provider, has invested in upgrading its MCT Submarine Cable System to strengthen its International Connectivity capabilities, enhancing Thailand's connection to the global communications network.
SYMPHONY is the first private company in Thailand to be licensed to invest in and deploy an international Submarine Cable System and remains the country's only service provider operating a Subsea Cable Landing Station in Rayong Province. Strategically located within the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), the facility plays a key role in supporting Data Center investments, international connectivity, and Thailand's digital economy.
As part of this upgrade, SYMPHONY has deployed Nokia's PSE-6 Coherent Optics technology to enhance the performance, capacity, and resilience of its submarine cable network. The upgraded infrastructure supports more than 30 Tbps per Fiber Pair, enabling the network to accommodate the rapid growth of international traffic driven by AI, OTT services, Cloud Services, Hyperscale Data Centers, and next-generation digital applications.
Beyond increasing network capacity, the new technology also strengthens network security, improves network management efficiency, and enables real-time network performance monitoring. The investment reflects SYMPHONY's commitment to developing world-class digital infrastructure that meets the evolving demands of enterprises and digital service providers in the AI-driven economy.

Mr. Supornchai Chotputtikul, Executive Vice President, Head of Regulatory Affairs Division and Subsea Cable and Special Network Project, said: "Deploying Nokia's PSE-6 Coherent Optics is more than a network capacity upgrade. It enhances the reliability, security, and operational efficiency of our infrastructure while enabling better network visibility and monitoring.
