The global warming crisis and climate change represent critical challenges with far-reaching impacts on human life and economic development. These include seasonal pattern disruptions, natural disasters, species extinction, and the altered distribution of pathogens and disease vectors. Climate change is also a major driver of increasingly frequent and severe natural disasters, resulting in substantial loss of life and property, as well as broad economic and social repercussions.

Symphony Communication Public Company Limited (“the Company”) acknowledges the challenges and risks associated with climate change, which may directly or indirectly affect its business operations. The Company is therefore committed to operating in an environmentally responsible manner and raising awareness on climate change, global warming, and environmental conservation—not only within the organization, but also among its partners, customers, and the general public. The Company places emphasis on reducing energy consumption, studying and planning for the use of alternative energy sources, and promoting, supporting, and participating in various initiatives aimed at reducing global warming in a tangible and measurable way. In this regard, the Company has joined the “Care the Bear: Change the Climate Change” initiative organized by the Stock Exchange of Thailand, which supports the reduction of resource consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and the mitigation of global warming.

Symphony Communication Public Company Limited (“the Company”) places great importance on managing and operating in ways that contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, which are a primary cause of climate change and global warming. The Board of Directors plays an active role in overseeing climate-related matters, including setting greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets, and formulating strategies and action plans to achieve those targets.

The Company’s activities contributing to greenhouse gas emissions include the use of fossil fuels from organizational vehicles (Scope 1) and the consumption of electricity to support service delivery, network equipment, air conditioning, lighting, and office appliances (Scope 2). In response, the Company has set a target to achieve Carbon Neutrality by 2050 and Net Zero by 2065.

To achieve these goals, the Company has outlined a comprehensive strategy divided into three key areas:

  1. Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Operations to Create a Low-Carbon Society

This includes improving energy efficiency, transitioning to renewable energy through appropriate technologies, minimizing landfill waste, and ensuring proper disposal of electronic waste and hazardous materials in accordance with established standards. The Company also prioritizes the use of environmentally friendly, high-quality materials and equipment to extend product life cycles, reduce replacement frequency, and lower waste management costs. Furthermore, the Company collaborates with partners and customers to enhance capacity in reducing net GHG emissions and ultimately achieving carbon-negative outcomes.

  1. Developing Products and Services that Contribute to Emissions Reduction

The Company identifies opportunities to design solutions and services that support customers in reducing their greenhouse gas emissions. Notably, cloud services not only enhance operational efficiency and business performance but also empower organizations to manage energy consumption more effectively across various operational areas. This contributes to broader carbon reduction throughout the entire supply chain and supports clients in fulfilling their sustainability commitments and goals.

  1. Promoting Environmental Awareness Among Employees

The Company is committed to fostering environmental awareness and understanding among its personnel by integrating environmental consciousness into the organizational culture. This internal development is seen as essential to driving long-term behavioral change and supporting the Company’s environmental goals.
